- You will need to get an undergraduate degree, then apply to Pharmacy schools. For most Pre-Pharmacy majors, it is suggested that you major in Chemistry, Biology, or Biochemistry, but it really doesn't matter what you major in as long as you get the admissionjs requirements for Pharmacy School completed. You will have to check with each individual Pharmacy School that you consider, because admissions requirements sometimes vary from school to school. http://www.pharmcas.org/collegesschools/directoryalphastate.htm There are 4 schools in Virginia that have Schools of Pharmacy. To practice as a Pharmacist in the United States you have to earn a PharmD Degree (or BS in Pharmacy if you went to school before the PharmD started being required.) It is a Professional Degree that requires 3-4 years of study after you earn a BAchelor's Degree. Some schools do not require you to earn an undergraduate degree to be admitted, but those schools provide for a pathway in which to earn your BS, MS, and PharmD concurrently.
