How to become a pharmacy technician in Utah? I do not have the time or the money to go to school for a year to become a pharmacy technician. My question is, can I purchase books, study at home, then take the PTCB exam? Thanks for your help!
Do pharmacy school admissions consider what university you went to as an undergrad? For example, if two people have the same credentials but one went to Stanford and the other went to an average state school for undergrad, will the pharmacy school prefer to take the student who went to Stanford? Another example is if a student's GPA was slightly lower because the curve is tougher at a competitive undergraduate school? Will the pharmacy school take this into consideration? Or does it not make any difference to the people at pharmacy school admissions? Thanks a lot!

Is it possible to work at a pharmacy without having a tech certificate? I plan to be a pharmacist and right now I'm taking my pre-reqs. What is the best way to apply/get hired as a pharmacy technician? I'm 16 years old and a junior in the International Baccalaureate program (it is known for its incredibly rigorous curriculum). I applied to be a pharmacy technician online for CVS/Pharmacy and then went into the store I am hoping to be hired at and filled out the application again. As untrained and still in high school, are my chances of receiving the job slim? I read that CVS/Pharmacy is a company that provides room for growth; does that mean they are willing to hire fresh faces and train them from the start? What should I do next to promote my chances, if there is anything to do at all? If this does not work, in general what is the best way to approach becoming a pharmacy technician at my current age/experience? Thanks!

What are the negative aspects of pharmacy? My cousin has an interview for pharmacy in a week. One of the popular questions at the interview is "what are the negative aspects of pharmacy" When I first heard this question, I didn't know how to answer it. Since its an interview, we can't say something very negative else the interviewer might ask why she even chose to pursue pharmacy then. So the answer has to be something negative about pharmacy but not too negative so the interviewer doens't say why you even wnat to be a pharmacist then.

How do i explain to my mom to let me pursue career in pharmacy? My mom hates pharmacy because we came from India and pharmacists pretty much have no respect there. Just called compounders. She wants me to be some other doctor but im not into surgery. And she said that if become doctor atleast i could go to india and still practice there with degree from USA. I might consider going back one day but not until much later. I love India and my family and cousins are all there but im just used to living in clean and modern country like america. My dad doesnt care as long as i can support myself. How do explain to my mom pharmacy is good? everytime i try to talk to her about it she just gets mad and tells me how everyone back home in india will laugh. theres no respect for pharmacist there cuz at every corner theres a medicine store and just normal people distribute medicines all u need is doctors prescription. theres like 10 medicine stores on 1 block. so no demand for pharmacists at all. and my mom wants me to go back to india when im older like 40 or so. i would like to go back too around that age but cant if i do pharmacy but still want to stay here for a while. btw my moms best friend is also a successful pharmacist she also from india. but she plans on livin in usa all life. i tell my mom how successful she is but she just get mad.
